Visitors to Washington, DC, in the spring can't miss the cherry blossoms. There is a festival, a parade, and many other events devoted to celebrating the flower. Known as “the nation’s greatest springtime celebration," the National Cherry Blossom Festival is a must-see.
Passport DC
The month of May brings Passport DC to the city. The goal of this free event is to let participants take a trip around the world without leaving the city. The month-long itinerary features tours of embassies and other activities meant to foster awareness of international cultures.
Museums
Ranked the world's number-one museum destination, Washington, DC, houses the largest museum complex—the Smithsonian. The Smithsonian is actually comprised of 19 museums and nine research centers.
